VBN SemesterTicket

Conditions

Students from certain universities and colleges receive a special non-transferable season ticket valid for just one semester - the VBN SemesterTicket. It is issued by the universities and colleges involved, together with the enrolment certificate. You have to carry official photo ID.

Use

Valid for one person who must be a student at one of the following institutions:

• Deutsche Außenhandels- und Verkehrs-Akademie DAV, Bremen
• Hochschule Bremen
• Hochschule für Künste Bremen
• Hochschule für Öffentliche Verwaltung, Bremen
• Jacobs University Bremen
• Jade Hochschule Wilhelmshaven, Oldenburg, Elsfleth
• Universität Bremen
• Hochschule für internationale Wirtschaft und Logistik, Bremen
• Hochschule Bremerhaven
• Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg
• Hochschule für Künste im Sozialen, Ottersberg

Area of Validity

Valid across the network in all local public transport buses, trams and trains in the VBN area and on the through IC/EC trains between Bremen Hbf and Augustfehn. It is also valid on bus routes in the territory of the Verkehrsverbund Ems-Jade (VEJ), in Emsland District and Verkehrsgemeinschaft Landkreis Cloppenburg (VGC). The VBN SemesterTicket can be used on trains only in 2nd class without exception. 

In addition to the VBN SemesterTicket, there is also a semester ticket for the whole federal state valid on local rail services. With this ticket, you can use all local trains in Lower Saxony, including those outside the VBN area, and certain rail routes in neighbouring federal states.

If your VBN SemesterTicket bears the logo of the federal state semester ticket next to the VBN logo, the ticket entitles you to use rail routes outside the VBN area. You can get more information from the General Students’ Committee at your university or college or from www.dein-semesterticket.de.

Period of Validity

Valid for the holder in the current semester, including in the semester holidays.

If you really have to use a car, save a registration fee with car sharing with cambio by showing your valid SemesterTicket.
