With your long-distance ticket from DB Fernverkehr AG, you can use VBN transport within Bremen, Bremerhaven, Oldenburg or Delmenhorst for travel to and from the relevant station. Please note the area of validity of the City-Ticket for Bremen (fare zones 100 and 101), Bremerhaven (fare zone 250), Oldenburg (fare zone 740) and Delmenhorst (fare zone 710). The entitlement to use local public transport is pointed out on the ticket or on the online or mobile ticket by means of the wording “+ City”. The “+ City regulations” apply to long-distance tickets of more than 100 km. Tickets that have been bought at a super economy price are excluded.
Notes
If the number of people travelling together is indicated on the long-distance ticket, the City-Ticket regulations also applies to the people travelling with the ticket holder. If your actual destination is outside the cities/towns of Bremen, Bremerhaven, Oldenburg and Delmenhorst, you need at least a SingleTicket for the entire route. Purchasing an ExtensionTicket to the City-Ticket is not permitted.
However, a BahnCard 100 is valid as a season ticket on the network means of transport in the cities/towns of Bremen, Bremerhaven, Oldenburg and Delmenhorst. If you want to undertake journeys beyond the town limits with your BahnCard 100, you need an ExtensionTicket in line with the fare schedule and terms of carriage to travel on buses. You can also use trains operated by Weser-Ems-Bus within the VBN area without paying anything more.
