Travel by public transport with one swipe – Swipe "Start" when boarding and "Stop" when alighting, and you're done: probably the simplest form of ticket at the best price of the day with a take-along function for fellow travellers.

New: FAIRTIQ-Bonus 2.0 in the VBN – save in stages when travelling
VBN is introducing the FAIRTIQ Bonus 2.0 together with FAIRTIQ on 1 July 2025. The new discount scale rewards passengers who regularly travel with the FAIRTIQ app – without a subscription or registration.

This is how much you can save:

• from 3 days of use per month: 5 per cent discount
• from 7 days of use: 10 per cent discount
• 11 or more days of use: 15 per cent discount

Participation is automatic when using the app, no registration required. The discount applies to all further journeys in the same calendar month – including in other FAIRTIQ bonus regions throughout Germany.

Download
The FAIRTIQ app is available for iOS and Android operating systems and can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store or Google Play Store (see below). 

Registration
One-off registration and enter your payment details. A printed purchase receipt does not constitute a valid ticket.

Means of payment
You can use PayPal, a credit card (Mastercard and VISA), SEPA direct debit mandate (Klarna) and Apple Pay or Google Pay as payment methods.

Privacy
The data is only used to operate and improve the FAIRTIQ apps. It will be anonymised after one year. FAIRTIQ complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Swipe to start
Simply swipe right on the start button before boarding.              

Swipe to stop
Once at your destination, swipe left on the stop button after disembarking. If the smart-stop function is enabled before your journey, the system will end the journey automatically.

Easy transfers
The journey continues running automatically when changing vehicles. Also when transferring between buses, trams and trains. 

Ticket inspection
Simply show the ticket in the app. Tap on "Show tickets" and present the barcode displayed in the app.

The ticket app enables you to use all buses, trams and trains cashlessly, without having to buy tickets at the machines. 

Best daily fare
FAIRTIQ automatically optimises the respective fare. Every day, it checks which ticket combination is the cheapest and only charges this amount.

The tickets are only for immediate use. They are personalised and therefore non-transferable. You can now also purchase an additional ticket for another person travelling with you.
